BIOGRAPHY:

🏛 Director of U.S. Federal Policy at Stripe since 2021.

🚀 Prior to Stripe, Matt worked with one of the top web3 angel investors by providing legal, regulatory, and policy expertise for a portfolio of 200+ early stage companies.

🇺🇸 Matt spent nearly a decade in senior roles on Capitol Hill shaping innovation policy, including as Deputy Staff Director of the House Financial Services Committee for Patrick McHenry and as his Legislative Director during his tenure as Chief Deputy Whip. He led efforts to pass bipartisan legislation on startup capital formation, government modernization, and economic policy—including the CARES Act and the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act—all while spearheading major policy initiatives on fintech, crypto, AI, regtech, and early-stage startup investment.

💡 In addition to numerous speaking engagements and fellowships, he was as an affiliate of the prestigious Berkman Klein Center for Internet & Society at Harvard University and a recipient of the American Swiss Foundation’s Young Leaders Award.

📚 He received his law degree at the University of Denver and his undergraduate from the University of Michigan.
